Quick Start

Get Snipe-IT up and running in minutes

1. Install Snipe-IT

   Deploy Snipe-IT using Docker, manual installation, or your preferred hosting method. See the installation guide for detailed instructions.

   docker run -d -p 80:80 --name snipe-it \
     -e APP_URL=http://localhost \
     -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=secret \
     snipe/snipe-it:latest
   
2. Complete Initial Setup

   Access your Snipe-IT instance in a browser and complete the web-based setup wizard. You’ll configure your database connection, create an admin account, and set basic preferences.

   The default admin credentials should be changed immediately after first login for security.

3. Add Your First Assets

   Navigate to Assets → Create New to add hardware assets to your inventory. Define categories, manufacturers, and custom fields to organize your assets effectively.

4. Start Managing

   Check assets in and out to users, set up maintenance schedules, track software licenses, and generate reports. Explore the core features to unlock the full potential of Snipe-IT.
