# Consumables

> Track items that are consumed and not returned - printer toner, office supplies, and disposable items

## Overview

Consumables are items that are used up and not expected to be returned. Common examples include printer toner cartridges, staples, pens, notebooks, cleaning supplies, and similar disposable or single-use items.

## Key Differences from Accessories

| ------------------- | ----------------------- | -------------------------- |
| **Return Expected** | No - consumed/used | Yes - returned on check-in |
| **Check-In** | Cannot be checked in | Can be checked in |
| **Usage Pattern** | Single-use or depleted | Reusable |
